SHOUTING OUT TO ALL FNQ GRAFFITI ARTISTS, STREET ARTISTS , B-BOYS n GIRLS & MC’s

In 2004 The Upholstery in collaboration with Tastey and The Inbox Café (now gone) held Far North Queensland’s first graffiti and street art event/exhibition entitled ‘Da Graff Show’. The event was designed to showcase the regions talented aerosol artists and create a legal, safe, public domain for which artists and the public could interact… it was a massive success, but is now gone….

So Taste-y and the Upholstery are proudly bringing it back bigger and better than ever with….

The Alley Project 16th May2009 Graffiti Street Art Beats n Rhymes

THIS IS NOT A FREE FOR ALL… Interested artists must apply to be involved The Alley is approximately 75m long. This will be split into sections….

The Alley is approximately 75m long. This will be split into sections….

Section 1:  Tastey ‘tropical, beats n treats’ Themed Production.
This will be a full production wall, with a planned mural background.
This will be involve 8 – 12 local and national guest writers.
Themed sketches and ideas are essential for this.
Artists will be selected prior to beginning this section

Section 2: The Upholstery Freeform Production and Exhibition.
This will be a less structured wall and will allow participating artists the chance to collaborate and work with other local writers.
This will involve 8-12 local and national artists
Sketches and ideas are required for this section – no theme

Exhibition:  Upholstery Exhibition of Canvases, Black Book and Photography art will be set up as part of the event. Works for this will be selected from the participating artists.

***ALL WRITERS/CREWS ARE WELCOME TO APPLY!***

YOU WILL NEED TO SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:
Sketches, photos of pieces or canvases etc, sketches/scribbles of proposed piece or artwork for the alley.
